This policy explains what Altio AI Pvt. Ltd. ("we", "us") collects when you buy from shop.cheekoai.in and when your child uses a Cheeko device. Please read the section on children's voice data carefully — it is the part most parents want to understand.

Part 1 — Your child and the Cheeko device

Cheeko is not always listening

Cheeko has no wake word. The microphone opens only while the talk button is physically held down, and closes the moment it is released. It does not listen in the background, it does not activate on a phrase, and it cannot be triggered remotely.

We say this plainly because it matters: there is a microphone — it is a voice product. What there isn't is anything always-on.

What happens to your child's voice

When the talk button is held, the recording is sent over your wifi to our servers to work out what was asked and to produce a spoken answer.
The recording is used for that purpose only.
Voice recordings are not used to advertise to you, and are never sold or shared with advertisers or data brokers.
Stories, story cards and offline games do not use the microphone at all.

What a parent can see and control

Through the parent app you can: see the questions your child asked, set daily time limits, choose the language, choose which content packs are unlocked, and delete your child's history.

Deleting your child's data

You can delete your child's voice history from the parent app at any time. You may also email hello@altio.me from the address on your order and ask us to delete everything associated with your device. We will confirm once it is done.

Parental consent

Cheeko is intended for children aged 3–10 and must be set up by a parent or guardian. By setting up the device you confirm you are the parent or guardian of the child using it and consent to the voice processing described above. Under India's Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023, processing a child's personal data requires verifiable parental consent — device setup is where we obtain it.

What Cheeko does not do

No advertising to your child — ever
No open internet, no browser, no app store
No video, no autoplay, no recommendation feed
No profile of your child sold or shared with third parties
No camera

Part 2 — Buying from our store

What we collect

Order details — name, delivery address, email, phone number
Payment confirmation — processed by Razorpay. We never see or store your card details.
Support messages — whatever you send us by email or WhatsApp
Website usage — pages visited and similar analytics, via cookies

Who we share it with

Shopify — runs this store
Razorpay — processes payments
Shiprocket and delivery partners — to deliver your order and, where applicable, collect the balance
Meta and analytics providers — website traffic measurement and advertising to adults

We do not sell your personal information.

Marketing

We may email or message you about your order, and about Cheeko news if you opted in. You can unsubscribe at any time using the link in any email or by replying STOP.

How long we keep things

Order records are kept as long as required for tax and warranty purposes. Voice data is kept only as long as needed to run the service, or until you delete it.

Part 3 — Your rights

You may ask us to show you the data we hold, correct it, delete it, or stop using it. Email hello@altio.me and we will respond as required by law.

Cookies

This site uses cookies to work properly and to measure traffic. You can block them in your browser, though parts of the site may stop working.

Where your data is held

Your data is processed in India and may be handled by service providers in other countries. Where that happens, we require appropriate safeguards.
